If You’re in Your 20s and Feel Completely Lost

Where are you right now, again?

After college, we all had our maps and backpacks packed. Full of our dreams and goals not knowing what’s ahead of us.

If you have your life planned out, well good for you. But there’s a huge percentage of us that don’t have an idea on what we are doing right this very moment. Being pressured by society, your family and even yourself, all at once. Can we erase the word expectations? And just let things happen.

How do you see yourself in five years? What are your plans for the next year? Clearly, not everybody can answer these questions. If you ask me, I would just utter words that seem cool to hear and less of a realistic and attainable thing to achieve. You might not be the best out of the field you’ve chosen or immediately get that promotion. Relax, we are all a work in progress. This time might not be yours yet! Take chances and opportunities. Don’t let the pressure get to you. You’ll have your own story of success soon.

When you’ve given everything but fulfillment and satisfaction is nowhere to be found. It’s okay to quit. It’s time to change the course of your life. You don’t want to get stuck in a life you never wanted right? Instead of complaining of how hard life is, take the first step or let go of something or someone who’s holding you down. Be free, experience the wonders of being lost.

If you’re lost, welcome it with open arms. Embrace all of it. Take the rough roads and shaky paths. Venture into the depths of life and explore the world. One day you might find what you’re looking for. You should know that all of us are students of life. Never be afraid of what you’ll become but anticipate of what you are becoming.

It’s true that we have never-ending lists of things we want to do and places we want to travel to before we die. We still have a lot of years ahead of us. It’s all about God’s perfect timing and his plans for you. Your life is an unwritten book, you’re the author. You choose where it will take place, when your story will start and even how it will end.

We are allowed to get lost and feel completely lost.

  1. This post really came at the right time for me! I am feeling myself crumbling a bit from external pressure and expectations that I apparently have started to internalize, while I fully well know that you can’t force certain processes. So, thanks for reminding me! ❤

  2. I just graduated college, so yeah, 21 and really lost. What should I do next? Keep studying or work? Why not both? Am I capable of it? So many questions pop up in my mind. I’m my own responsibility now and that’s scary. Not so scary when I realize I’m not alone. People around me are also scare, it’s part of living and learning.
    Really nice post!

  3. I love this post. I’m coming to the end of my final year at University and have so much pressure and expectations of where I should be in my life. This post made me realise that you’re just discovering life and who you are in your 20s. Xx

  5. Love this! It’s great to get reminded every now and then that it’s okay to know what’s going on with your life. If we knew what the future held it wouldn’t be as exciting right?!

  6. I’m in my 20s and still feeling lost! But I’m learning to embrace it as it isn’t showing any signs of passing just yet. Some days are a struggle though as you can’t help but compare yourself to others sometimes. Great post!

  7. Hello Angel!

This is a beautiful post, one worth sharing! I couldn’t agree more with everything… I always take life day by day and do everything I want (when possible) with a general goal in life but I try not to stress the small stuff.

I have a few friends that need to read this so I’ll be sharing!
