Wandering: Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates

When you’re in a new country, what do you do? Being the tourista that I am. I never let any opportunity slip through my hands whenever we are going out, I always bring my trusty camera with me. One week before leaving the Philippines I had no idea what would Abu Dhabi be like as a city. When I got here, it’s way different from Manila. I’ll tell you more about it in my next post!

AUH is a cool city. If you’re one of those people who doesn’t like crowded cities, you should definitely visit safe haven. You’ll be amazed by how beautiful and Instagram-worthy the city is.

I’m sorry but… I love how every time I walk the streets of this city, everywhere I look is something worth pressing the capture button for.

When it’s the winter months, getting up early and going for a morning stroll should be on the top of your list. The city isn’t crowded with people at all. You can even have a photo shoot every corner or in the middle of the streets (be careful though). It’s a beautiful place to just wander around and discover new places by just walking. But in the summertime, I recommend not to do that because the heat here can get pretty intense.

It was an unexpected urge to go to one of the luxurious hotels in the world. But if you’re here in AUH you shouldn’t let it pass right?

The Emirates Palace, a 5-star hotel and one of the breathtaking structures here. Unfortunately we went there during the night but still, its beauty shines even at night time. Especially when you go inside the interior is so mesmerizing.

The dome of the famous hotel. *heart-eyes* I learned that majority of the parts of the suites are made of gold and marble.

Advice: You can go inside for free but only on the first floor. I recommend going there at daytime so you can fully enjoy wandering around the hotel garden. The place being crowded will never be your problem.

My co-workers arrange a weekend getaway for us and go on a Desert Safari Adventure. Your trip to the Middle East is not complete without experiencing any Desert Safari adventures; may it be sand dunes bashing (my favorite) riding a camel and enjoying a wonderful Arabic feast.

A beautiful vast scenery of the desert. But the adventure starts when we stepped into the car and had a fun time sand dunes bashing while going to our camp.

We enjoyed our night with a nice Arabian feast; entertained and relaxed. We had the chance to stare gaze but sadly, there weren’t many stars to see that night.

The highlight of this trip was me riding a camel! Something to tick off of my bucket list.

I have yet to explore the hidden gems of Abu Dhabi, my adventures are just beginning…

What places/countries would you like to visit? What things would you like to try in those places?

  1. We would like to visit Japan because it’s Rhon’s favorite country. We want to go there and experience the cherry blossom season 🙂
