“Don’t trust anyone, don’t even trust me. Trust yourself.”

“Sometimes those who sacrifice loses everything.”

“No matter how tough you think you are, there are certain things that just get to you, and they’re usually the little things. The ones you don’t expect.”

Oz was not the same anymore when Dorothy came back and ruled over the whole place. Things started to change, the Munchkins were treated as slaves and every village was destroyed by the lion and his troops. But everything is bound to change again, another girl from Kansas fell out of the sky, Amy Gumm. Her mission is to remove the Tin Woodman’s heart, steal the Scarecrow’s brain and take the Lion’s courage and then Dorothy must die. As I was reading this book I thought it was another miss but I was wrong. The story keeps getting better and better every chapter. At first it was a bit slow and I didn’t get anything it was telling me, because I haven’t read Wizard of Oz, but in every turn of the pages it explains you how things was back then, than what they are seeing along their journey. I really liked the whole re-telling of Wizard of Oz with a dash of spunk in it.

The characters in this story were great. First the Wicked witches, they were cool, teaching Amy all the magic spells and stuff. I liked Glamoura she’s so fashionably wicked haha. Nox? Ahh who wouldn’t want a little romance in this story. I wouldn’t spoil you don’t worry! Pete, yes Pete, the guy who would always appear when Amy was in trouble. This dude is really mysterious I mean everyone in this book is so mysterious. The princess herself has a little bit of an attitude, Dorothy, she was the main reason why Oz changed. Amy Gumm, the girl from the Other Place everyone thinks she might be their only hope to save Oz. I liked her in a way that she’s tough on the outside but she’s really a softie inside.

It’s a great book to be honest, if your looking for something to read that’s on the classical side with a bit of spin to it better grab this book and get yourself lost in the magical world of Oz.
